Answer: A learning assessment involves the administration of both an intelligence scale such as the Wechsler intelligence Scale for Children – Fourth Edition (WISC-IV) or the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scales – Fifth Edition (SB5) as well as a test of achievement such as the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test – second edition (WIAT-II). This typically will involve an initial one hour appointment to gather important information and four one hour appointments for testing. The clinician will then score and interpret the test results and a one hour feedback session will be conducted typically one or two weeks after the assessment to go through the results and recommendations.
