Understanding my Partner with Asperger’s Syndrome

Dr Michelle Garnett devised the World’s first screening tool for AS and is the Founder of Minds & Hearts, a specialist clinic in Brisbane for children and adults who have an autism spectrum condition (ASC). Both psychologists excel in providing diagnostic assessment and intervention for adults with ASC. Stephen Heydt is a Clinical Psychologist with some thirty years experience providing treatment across a range of problems in city, rural and remote Australian communities and internationally on three continents. He has worked with children and adults with different abilities since 1981. 

The information night is for:

Adult women in a relationship with a man with Asperger’s Syndrome.

The aim of the information evening is to assist partners of men with Asperger’s Syndrome (AS) to cope with the demands of being neurotypical in a relationship with someone on the spectrum.  Whilst being in a relationship with a man with AS brings its own unique rewards, there can also be challenges.  The speaker will provide insight into typical experiences and difficulties that men with AS have in a relationship as well as the common experiences for women as their partners.  The evening will provide a chance for the presenters and attendees to discuss specific questions, integrating knowledge and experience into practical strategies and advice. 

Numbers are capped at 30 participants.

COST: $70 per person

VENUE:  The Croquet Club Community Hall located at 91 Cordelia Street, South Brisbane (in Musgrave Park).  Parking is available on site.  The yellow parking gates will be opened for you to park in the grounds surrounding the Croquet Club Community Hall.  We will tie red balloons to the venue to make it easier to find.  Please look out for these!

Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy is important to know, because it will keep your costs down.

If you cancel outside of 1 week prior to the date of the information night you will receive a $50 partial refund (a $20 administration fee will be charged).  If you cancel within 1 week prior to the date of the information night you will receive a $70 credit that can be spent on a future information night or a future appointment at Minds and Hearts.
